Refunds & Cancellation

How to cancel, what happens to what you already paid for, and when money comes back.

Last updated 2026-09-14

Cancelling a subscription

Cancel from the billing page in your account, at any time, without asking anyone. No notice period, no retention call, no form.

  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut you off mid-period.
  • You keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • At that point the account drops to the Free plan. It is not deleted and neither are your API keys.
  • You can undo a cancellation any time before the period ends.

Refunds on subscriptions

Subscription fees are charged in advance for the period ahead and are, as a rule, not refunded part-way through a period. You keep the access you paid for instead.

We do refund, without argument, when:

  • You were charged after cancelling. Full refund.
  • You were charged twice for the same period. The duplicate is refunded.
  • You never used it. First payment on a new subscription, cancelled within 14 days, with no meaningful API usage: full refund.
  • We broke it. A sustained outage or a defect that stopped you using the service for a significant part of the period: pro-rata refund or a credit, whichever you prefer.
  • We materially reduced a paid plan and you cancelled before the change took effect: pro-rata refund for the unused period.

Prepaid packs

A prepaid pack is a one-off purchase of a fixed number of lookups. It does not renew and no payment method is kept on file.

  • Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase, less the value of any credits already spent.
  • After 14 days, credits are non-refundable but remain usable until they expire.
  • Credits expire 12 months after the date of purchase. Expiry is shown in your account and we email a reminder before it happens.
  • Credits are consumed oldest-expiring first, so nothing expires while newer credits are being spent.

Crypto payments

Crypto payments are final once confirmed on-chain and we cannot reverse a transaction. Where a refund is due under this policy, it is paid to a wallet address you provide, in the same asset, at the exchange rate at the time the refund is issued. That rate will differ from the rate you paid at, possibly by a lot, in either direction. Network fees come out of the refunded amount.

Two things that are not problems, so you do not have to worry about them:

  • You underpaid. The invoice stays open and shows the shortfall. Send the difference and it settles.
  • You overpaid. The pack is credited and the surplus is added as extra credits at the pack's unit rate. We do not keep it.
  • You paid after the invoice expired. We credit it anyway. A timer firing is not a reason to keep your money.

The Free plan

Nothing is charged, so there is nothing to refund or cancel. Stop using it whenever you like.

Consumers in the EU and UK

If you are buying as a consumer rather than for a business, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. Because this is digital content supplied immediately, that right ends once supply has begun with your consent, which is what you give at checkout when you ask for immediate access.

In practice we apply the 14-day rules above to consumers and businesses alike, so you are not worse off either way. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded are not excluded.

How to ask

Email [email protected] from the address on the account, with the invoice number or the payment reference. Say what happened; you do not need to justify yourself beyond that.

  • We respond within 2 business days.
  • Approved refunds are issued within 5 business days.
  • Card refunds go back to the original card and usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. That last part is out of our hands.

Please write to us before opening a chargeback. Almost every dispute we have seen was a misunderstanding that took one email to fix. A chargeback costs us a fee and suspends the account automatically, which helps nobody. We would rather just refund you.

Accounts we close

If we terminate an account for a serious breach of the Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, fees already paid are not refunded. If we close an account for any other reason, unused subscription time and unused credits are refunded pro-rata.
